3 376 restaurants halal listed in our directory, in France. This is the real number of listings in our database, updated continuously, not a marketing estimate.
Among them, 81 rely on the accreditation of a certification body. The others have varying levels of evidence, shown listing by listing (see Our method).
Where are we present?
Not only in Paris. Our database covers France, with a high density in Île-de-France (Paris and its surrounding area: 92, 93, 94, 95, 77, 78, 91) and a presence in the major metropolitan areas: Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Montpellier, Strasbourg, Nice, among others. Coverage grows as additions and reports come in.
How we count
The figure shown is computed directly from our database, not estimated. Building the listings follows a few simple rules:
- Aggregation of public sources: directories, registers of certification bodies, mapping platforms, restaurant owners' declarations.
- Deduplication: the same establishment present in several sources is counted only once (matched by name and address).
- Exclusion of closed establishments and of anything that is not a restaurant.
- Level of evidence per listing: we do not display a uniform "halal". Each listing states who documented, cited or declared, when, and according to which source (see Our method).
And tomorrow?
The MVP is centred on France, but the goal is multilingual and cross-border: to let a French user find halal food when travelling (Spain and neighbouring countries), and a foreign visitor find their way around France with the application. Coverage and languages will expand in stages.
