Method
The level of evidence is never fixed in a database: it is recalculated on every display, from what has been received and its date. Each level is a shape, a colour and a word, never a colour alone. We do not deliver a certification: we relay the one that identified third parties have published, with the source, without having verified it ourselves.
A certificate was submitted to the registry and reviewed. The document is shown with its control date: the registry shows its age, it does not downgrade it.
The registry cites this accreditation from a body’s public list. It has not received the document nor verified it: to be confirmed on the body’s official site.
The establishment declares that it serves halal. The registry has not received a body’s certificate. What follows comes from the restaurant, not from a control.
The registry has received neither a body’s certificate nor a declaration from the establishment. The absence of third-party evidence is the default state, not a flaw: this line describes the state of the registry, not that of the establishment.
No seal when there is nothing: the absence of third-party evidence is the normal state of most restaurants, not a gap to fill nor a fault to report. The absence of information is information.
The level is written nowhere: it is recalculated on every display, from the source and its date. The age is shown as is, without switch or judgment, for you to do with it what you want. A body's accreditation covers the venue, not the detail of the method: slaughter, alcohol and supplier stay « not specified » until the owner declares them.
Each line states who produced it: a certification body, the owner, or a public source.

A listing describes what the registry has received, as of its date. We do not expire listings and we do not re-check venues: the age of a piece of evidence is shown as is, for you to judge. An accreditation may change at the body's level, between two of its publications: the exact reference can be checked on its site. If you notice an error, report it.
Ma Table Halal is free and will stay so: no paid feature, no advertising, no visibility for sale. The registry is funded by the time of its author, an independent infrastructure and data engineer. The details are on the Transparency page, which is authoritative.
False information, a listing to contest, a venue wrongly categorized? Use the reporting form; each listing also carries a « Report incorrect information » button. We handle reports within 7 business days.
No. We have no religious role or theological expertise. We relay what identified third parties (certification bodies, owners themselves) have published, and on what date.
No, and that is deliberate. The directory aggregates listings from public sources; not all have the same level of evidence: some carry a filed certificate, others an accreditation cited by a certification body, others only the owner's declaration, others nothing from a third party. Rather than a uniform and misleading « halal », each listing shows its level of evidence and its source, so that you decide with full knowledge.
The attestation of halal is religious by nature: it is borne by identified bodies and authorities. Our role is technical and editorial: to show the evidence they have published, with its source and its date, without inventing what they did not say.
Two possible reasons: we have not included it in the base yet, or the source of its attestation is not identifiable. An owner can at any time claim their listing or ask for it to be added.

An owner can ask at any time for their listing to be removed. The listing is removed within 7 days. Removal is not conditioned on the existence of an attestation.
